Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Lake Forest Residents Directory. By continuing to use the reference, you accept them. Do not use it if you disagree with these conditions.

1. The Nature of This Reference

Lake Forest Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public rolls, indexes, and directory collections connected with Lake Forest and Orange County, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with a city, county, state, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Acceptable Use

Use the pages and linked sources only for lawful, respectful purposes. You may not use the reference or information reached through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions involving credit, employment, tenant, or insurance matters
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the content in bulk
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reports

Lake Forest Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 et seq. Neither the pages nor results from a linked search tool are consumer reports. They may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. Third-Party Destinations

Government portals, libraries, archives, and sponsored search services set their own terms and privacy rules. Lake Forest Residents Directory does not control their content, uptime, prices, results, or data practices.

5. No Warranty

The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties. No promise is made that a fact, link, fee, coverage date, or external portal is accurate, complete, current, available, or able to return a particular result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages arising from the reference or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record reached through it.

7. Indemnity

You agree to protect and hold the operators harmless from a claim, demand, loss, or expense, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from your misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Original Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. A normal link and a short attributed quotation are welcome. Reposting full pages or systematically copying the material is not permitted.

9. Updates

New terms may be posted at this address. Use after an update signifies acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms, threatens people, or abuses the service. That action may occur without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The public-record references concern the California Public Records Act, Government Code division 10, including sections 7920.000 through 7931.000 and the copy and response rules in sections 7922.530 and 7922.535. California’s Consumer Privacy Act appears at Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq.; it does not give this private reference control over a lawful government record.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
